RIVERSIDE, CA — December 8, 2008 — The holiday season wouldn’t be complete without the Riverside Transit Agency’s (RTA) annual holiday trolley, which kicks off this weekend with free service to popular shopping destinations in Corona and Norco.
The trolley will operate two routes this weekend, and again on December 20 and 21. In Norco, the trolley will stop at Kohl’s, Target, Wal-Mart and Mervyn’s. In Corona, it will stop at Wal-Mart, Dos Lagos and the Corona Crossings. The trolley may be boarded at those locations as well as the Corona Library, Home Gardens Library and the Norco Senior Center, among others.
“This special service is a great way for the entire family to get into the holiday spirit,” said RTA Chairman of the Board Karen Spiegel.
This Saturday, each city will hold a kick-off event at 9:30 a.m. The first 50 people at each kick-off will receive a free goodie bag. Corona will hold its kick-off with special guest Santa at the Corona Public Library, 650 S. Main Street. Norco’s kick-off will be at the Clark Terrace Apartments, 2680 Clark Avenue.
Not only do customers ride for free, they also qualify for a chance to win a $100 Wal-Mart shopping spree.
The Holiday Trolley is sponsored by the cities of Corona and Norco, the County of Riverside’s Second District and SE Corporation Dos Lagos. For a complete schedule and route details, go to www. RiversideTransit.com or call 1-800-800-7821.
