RIVERSIDE, CA — (December 19, 2007) — The Riverside Transit Agency (RTA) will
offer free rides to passengers on New Year’s Eve.
Keeping with tradition, RTA will offer free bus service on all 39 fi xed routes beginning at 6 p.m. on New Year’s Eve, December 31. The free fares will run until the end of each bus schedule on that day.
The cost-free trips are not only designed to keep people safe during the holiday season,
but also a way of saying thank you to passengers who ride all year. Special on-board
coupons for area restaurants and eateries will be reserved exclusively for New Year’s Eve passengers.
Because the majority of RTA’s routes don’t run much later than 8 p.m., the free New Year’s Eve service is ideal for those who plan to head home early, or for those who are going out for the night and have alternative transportation plans for their return trip home.
In regard to the upcoming holidays, RTA’s administrative offices will be closed and buses will not operate on Dec. 25 in observance of Christmas. The Agency and its buses will operate on a Sunday schedule on Jan. 1 in observance of New Year’s Day.
The Riverside Transit Agency provides public transportation for Western Riverside County, operating 39 fixed routes, 5 commuter routes and 15 demand response services. RTA’s service area spans 2,500 square miles, the second-largest in the nation. For bus route and schedule information contact RTA at (800) 800-7821 or log on to our Web site at www.RiversideTransit.com. |
