To Donate Retired Vehicle To Church
The
Riverside Transit Agency (RTA)
will donate a retired bus to the
Hemet Calvary Chapel Church at
an official key-passing ceremony
Wednesday, November 16. The ceremony
begins at 6 p.m. at the church,
which is located at 44200 Palm
Avenue. Hemet Mayor and RTA Board
Member Roger Meadows and RTA Chairman
Jim Ayres will be on hand to pass
along the ceremonial key to church
offi cials.
“One
of the greatest accomplishments
for a public service agency such
as RTA is giving back to the community,”
said Ayres, who is also a member
of the San Jacinto City Council.
“We take great pride in the fact
that non-profit organizations
such as Calvary Chapel Church
are benefiting from RTA’s vehicle
donation program. The program
creates a winning proposition
not only for RTA, but for the
non-profit agencies that become
new owners of these well-crafted
vehicles.”
RTA
donates Dial-A-Ride buses to cities
and non-profit organizations once
the vehicles have surpassed their
recommended service life.
The
Riverside Transit Agency provides
public transportation for Western
Riverside County, operating 38
fixed routes, 5 commuter routes
and 15 demand response services.
